Voith Industrial Services awarded contract by EBZ Group

ALABAMA, Ala. - Dec. 8, 2016 - PRLog -- The car body manufacturer EBZ Group has placed an order for the automation technology of new vehicle lines in Alabama, with Voith Industrial Services. EBZ is to equip with new production facilities in body construction.

As one of the partners of EBZ Group, the automation team of Voith Industrial Services assumes the service of the quarter panel facilities. The Voith experts are responsible for electrical hardware and software design, material procurement, installation and commissioning of controls as well as robots and sub-systems in the body shops.

After the contract had been awarded, the project planning started in the late summer of 2016. Immediately afterwards, the design stage followed, which will be completed with virtual commissioning in Germany.

The materials are transported together with the customer so that the installation in the USA can begin in spring 2017. It will then be possible to perform the electrical installation activities at the automobile manufacturer's plant in the USA to subsequently commission the facilities. The Voith Industrial Services team's responsibilities include the commissioning of welding and adhesive bonding systems as well as ensuring that the quality requirements for mass production to start are met.

Furthermore, the industrial services provider has to make sure that all safety aspects are implemented professionally in compliance with the customer's standard in Germany and the USA. The core project in the USA will start in spring 2017 and it will end in 2020.
