Boise_FC Boise FC is set to begin play in UPSL's Northwest Conference beginning with the 2017 Spring Season. The club is the second from Idaho in the UPSL, joining Twin Falls' Magic Valley FC. United Premier Soccer League Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We're thrilled that Boise FC has extended a hand to the UPSL as it creates a first for the Boise market. In turn, we see tremendous potential in Boise FC and very much support their efforts to bring a home-grown product to Idaho. They're already developing a rivalry with Magic Valley FC and we think it's a perfect match. We wish Boise FC well in their first season and beyond." Boise FC was brought public by a group of five Southern Idaho residents – Alyssa Buffi, Hector Coronado, Emmett Demirelli, Hector Palacios and Emerson Peredo – with the intent to form a competitive men's soccer program. Hector Palacios, a well-known talent evaluator throughout the United States' Northwest, is the club's first President. He also is the owner of Ultimate Linings of Idaho, Boise's foremost auto accessory retailer. Boise FC has played in eight matches since August, including a recent tournament in Washington at which the team advanced from pool play and was a semifinalist. The team has six victories so far, including friendly wins over Western Nevada College and Wood River FC. Boise FC President Hector Palacios said, "We're getting a feel for the new players we're trying to bring on. For some guys it was the first time that they played together, but at the same time we are playing touch ball and not long ball, so that's good and I think that's why we've clicked a lot so far. It's going really well and it's because of the way we've played." Started up as a way to harness a large and growing group of college-aged soccer players in the Boise area, Boise FC is a community-led project whose long-term aim is to bring professional soccer to the city. Boise FC co-Owner and Founder Alyssa Buffi said, "We just wanted to create something for Idaho that can help these amazing players move forward and get scouted. Now it's just a matter of getting everybody on board, and getting the word out, 'This is who we are. This is what we're doing. Support us in all that you can.'" Boise FC will play its games at the athletic facility on the campus of Boise State University. The college has been receptive to the club's future plans. "Boise State is really excited about having us play our games on campus," Buffi said. "They really want to see Boise FC come to life as well."
