PHOENIX - Dec. 7, 2016 - PRLog -- A Show of Hands, the solo exhibition of Constance McBride opened this past Friday, December 2nd at the monOrchid to an incredible First Friday crowd of over 2,000 people. McBride debuted a new body of work creating a striking series of clay and mixed-media sculptures of hands and figures. Her work continues to examine the important subjects including the aging process and its affects on the human body. "McBride has found a true connection with sculpture, celebrating the human body through clay highlighting its imperfections creating work that immediately exudes a feeling of tranquility blended with a sense unsettlement," states Curator, Nicole Royse.

Ongoing construction and space limitations within the original space required Royse to quickly create a temporary Bokeh Gallery in the North Studio at the monOrchid to accommodate the exhibition, as she had been planning it for over a year with the artist. Due to construction limitations and concern about the safety of the artwork the remainder of the A Show of Hands exhibition of Constance McBride is being canceled. Royse and McBride plan to mount an expanded version of this exhibition in 2017 with a new location to be determined and to be announced.
