PRAGUE - Dec. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- During its 2016 event, INsig2 LawTech Europe Congress (LawTech) has continued its mission of bringing inter-related industry leaders together to broaden their scope of learning and awareness. In furtherance of its mission, LawTech has included valuable insights from speakers within its Digital Forensics Track.

"According to the speakers within our Digital Forensics Track, cooperation and utilising suitable tools are key to successful forensic investigations," said Frederick Gyebi-Ababio, Director of INsig2 LawTech Europe Congress. "Although this might sound easy, cooperation isn't always forthcoming. In addition, reliance on a single tool or technology can substantially hinder an investigation."

LawTech 2016 speakers provided the following suggestions and observations.

"As a security specialist, being someone that knows how people could evade lawful inspection of data, I was very much amazed that forensics experts had just as much, or perhaps even more, trouble with procedures, politics, and lawyers as they had with people trying to evade the law." Adrianus Warmenhoven, RedSocks

"In competition investigations, don't underestimate the value of engaging with the regulator early on, as it may be possible to refocus a very broad information request through dialogue and make the task of finding relevant information more manageable." Karyn Harty, McCann FitzGerald

"The key to a successful large-scale regulatory investigation is to use the most suitable tools at the right time. It sounds easy, and possibly, an obvious statement, but you would be surprised how difficult this can be. Do not get side-tracked by the limitations of any one single technology. Let the investigation team take advantage of the best tools for the situation at hand." Nick Rich, Stroz Friedberg
