South Shore Chamber Athena PowerLink Mentoring Program Honors Maria Wood of Fashion Focus

ROCKLAND, Mass. - Dec. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The South Shore Chamber of Commerce celebrated Maria Wood, entrepreneur and owner of Fashion Focus as she graduated from the Athena PowerLink® Program on Wednesday, November 30 at Dave and Buster's in Braintree.

The Athena PowerLink® Program is a national business mentoring program designed to increase the growth and profitability of women-owned businesses.  The one-year program connects select women business owners with a skilled panel of advisors who meet the specific needs and challenges of the business.

"Being in the Athena Powerlink® program helped me how to value my time and not be afraid of saying no. The panel members have so much insight and expertise to offer. As a small business owner I wear 10 different hats and it's hard to see the forest for the trees because I am so busy. The panel gets you to the heart of what's holding you back and helps you implement new strategies that lead to real results"

Maria believes every girl should experience the freedom and joy that come from feeling self-confident. Fashion Focus Program of Pembroke holds weekly classes for girls ages 5-18. Classes consist of a wide variety of topics from personal care to interview skills, all with the aim to help girls feel prepared to tackle anything that comes their way. The program uses a runway as a tool to encourage its students to practice positive body language and to own the space they're in.
