"Beatles Encyclopedia" Author Coming to Cactus Music in Houston

HOUSTON - Dec. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- Kenneth Womack, PhD, a world renowned authority on the Beatles and their cultural influence, will be reading from and signing copies of his new book, The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four on Friday, December 9 at 5:30 pm at Cactus Music in Houston.

Debuting for the first time in an abridged, paperback version, the book is a thorough go-to reference guide for Beatles fans. Since significant events in the Beatles' story continue to unfold (such as the passing of their famed producer Sir George Martin in March 2016), the new Encyclopedia allowed for such important updates.

Cactus Music is Houston's oldest independent music store, with over 30 years in service. As a native of the city, Womack was thrilled for Cactus to be hosting his book's Texas debut. "I grew up shopping at Cactus," he says. "It's a staple of the Houston music scene and such an important venue in terms of independent music and book sellers."

An award-winning American fiction writer and literary critic, Kenneth Womack serves as Dean of the Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Monmouth University in New Jersey, where he is also a Professor of English. He is the author of three novels and editor of numerous volumes of literary and cultural criticism, as well as the author of several books on the Beatles, including Long and Winding Roads: The Evolving Artistry of the Beatles.
