Judith Braithwaite from the Neonatal Unit says: "Thank you very much for the effort and kindness you have shown it is very much appreciated. The hats will be extremely useful in assisting with the special care these babies require, and because there are so many hats we will share them with the hospital's maternity unit ensuring all our babies benefit." Ralph Parish, registered manager at Goldcrest House says: "We are very proud of all of our service users who helped with creating and presenting these very special hats. It is amazing to think that knitting has captured the creativity and resulted in something so positive." Based on Boothferry Road Goldcrest House is a centre of excellence dedicated to addressing the individual needs of adults over 18 affected by Autistic Spectrum Disorder and learning difficulties. It provides residential care, supported living, long and short term respite care, day services and outreach to meet the varied needs of those who access the service 52 weeks a year; its aim is to be the UK's quality service of choice.
