The marshal promises to check on Abby if he's ever in the area. Unknown to both, Abby lives in a dark and hopeless world of abuse and imprisonment in Sweethome. Another character, Bob Truet's life changes dramatically when a horrific crime affects his family. When the law is compromised, Truet takes matters into his own hands and is forced to flee Sweethome. Tyrannical Bob Thacker demands that the U.S. Marshal come to Sweethome to find Truet. The marshal arrives to face a bee's nest of emotions. To do what's right, he goes after Truet to bring him back to be acquitted for his crime. When Thacker learns of the deception, he puts a bounty on the lives of both men. Bannister and Truet are forced to fight together to get home alive.
