By: Aruba Tourism The Beach Brides blog is a dynamic tool aimed at couples during the planning stages of their wedding and honeymoon, offering inspiration and practical, relevant content to help them plan their perfect day in Aruba. The blog is one-of-a-kind in the Caribbean, offering couples much more than a standard landing page available on most tourist board websites. This underlines Aruba's commitment to being a romantic destination, further enhanced recently with the island parliament's decision to allow same sex civil partnerships, again the first island in the Caribbean to do so. More than 1,400 of last year's 12,300 UK visitors went to the island to marry or for their honeymoon – just over 11 per cent of the total and an increase of more than 19 per cent over the previous year. The Beach Brides blog is designed to be an online resource offering a wealth of ideas and detail to help couples tailor their wedding, using unique aspects of the island. These might range from incorporating local traditions to choosing a special venue. Local suppliers and services, including wedding planners, florists, photographers, caterers, musicians and hair/make-up professionals will also feature in the blog. It will be updated twice a week to keep it fresh, with featured weddings, advice from local professionals, personal stories of other couples' weddings and latest bridal trends. The Beach Brides blog, which is linked to aruba.com is an initiative of the Aruba Tourism Authority and can be found at www.beachbrides.com End
