BBC Sussex Reviews The New Vivitek Qumi Q3 Plus

Fevzi Turkalp the Gadget Detective answers tech questions on BBC Radio Surrey and Sussex

LEEDS, U.K. - Nov. 28, 2016 - PRLog -- Listening to the review on BBC Sussex this week on the new Qumi Q3 Plus, it looks like Vivitek have come up with a cracking new ultra portable pico projector with key features like battery, wifi, bluetooth at a decent brightness and tucked up into a very small package and with all the benefits of LED.

Fevzi Turkalp the Gadget Detective on BBC Radio said of the Vivitek Qumi Q3 Plus, "I love this gadget of the week. It's from a company called a Vivitek, they produce very small smart projectors. The one we're looking at now is the Vivitel Qumi 3+.

It's got its own battery and it projects 100 inch screen, you can charge it up and literally just slip it in your pocket then you change the source in various ways. It's got its own Wi-Fi connected with its own apps built into it. It actually runs Android.

You can connect it to a smartphone or tablet so you can get to Netflix and things like that. It's just quite remarkable.

One of the things a lot of people don't realise for those who have never owned a projector before, the conventional ones use bulbs which last for a few thousand hours but then are extremely expensive to replace but the Qumi uses an LED light source which will go for about 30,000 hours so it is a good deal.

All in all it with this device it's not cheap at a little over £500 (Qumi Q3+ available here for £429 (http://www.personalprojector.co.uk/qumi-q3plus-black.html)) but then good protectors are not cheap but then that's probably less than most people spend on their smartphone.

Overall, its got Wifi, it's also got Bluetooth speakers so you can position them anywhere in the room. And the ability to have a 100 inch screen wherever you go is quite a great feature. It is very small and very slinky so you can watch videos or look at your photos on it and you can put an Internet browser up on the screen as well."

Similar products to the Vivitek Qumi Q3+ are the Vivitek Q6 (800 lumens) and other alternatives to consider are the Pico Genie M550 which offers a 3 hour battery, Android interface, wireless mirroring for Apple and Android, kensington security lock, radio remote control, multiple ports, wireless keyboard/mouse option and a 3 watt stereo speakers.
