GREEN BAY, Wis. - Nov. 28, 2016 - PRLog -- LIVE 54218 welcomes three new staff members to the team in our continued effort to create a healthier and more active community.

Beth Heller, Community Initiatives Lead

Beth comes to Live54218 with a Master's Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. For the last 15 years, Beth has worked in the field of integrative health, focusing on infertility and pregnancy, and collaborating with the medical community to make nutrition, exercise and stress management education part of the standard of care for women's health. As the Community Initiatives Lead, Beth will focus on building partnerships across multiple disciplines within the Healthy Food System space with the aim of executing action plans for Live54218 grants and programming. A yoga teacher for almost 20 years, Beth's personal passions include teaching mindfulness to elementary school kids and trying to live in the present moment. Beth's family recently relocated from Chicago to Green Bay and are enjoying the green space and the welcoming community.

Deb Johnson, Farm to School Coordinator

Deb Johnson graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Welfare and UW-Milwaukee with a Master of Science in Administrative Leadership in Education. Before she and her husband relocated their family to the Green Bay area, she managed a volunteer program at a residential treatment center for boys in Milwaukee. Upon settling in DePere, she began working with children in various capacities. Healthy eating has always been an interest of Deb's and she has been fortunate to be able to help children develop that interest through cooking classes since 2006. Her current role in our area's elementary schools allows her to combine her experience and passion for working with children with her passion for good nutrition. In her free time, Deb enjoys reading, checking out new recipes, boating, running, and watching her two boys play hockey.

Mario Gonzalez, Community Engagement Lead

Mario Gonzalez earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before coming to the Green Bay area, he worked as a play-by-play announcer, media adviser, and news/sports reporter, which took him to Alaska, Indiana and Wisconsin. As the Community Engagement Lead, Mario is responsible for marketing, communications, media relations, social media and volunteer coordination for Live54218. His time in the news industry has given him skills and experiences that can help promote the organization's mission of making Brown County the healthiest place to live. Mario is a Chicago native and passionate fan of the city's sports teams. He likes to keep active in his free time by playing golf, softball, and is always looking for an excuse to bring out his baseball glove.

We are happy to have them on the team as they share their talent and passion for a healthier Brown County.
