The U.S. Franchise Trade Mission in India in December 2016

DELHI, India - Nov. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- International Franchise Association and Franchise Times come together to bring a U.S. Franchise Trade Mission to India. The franchise trade mission has been designated as a Certified Trade Mission by the U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Department of Commerce. A select group of American brands will receive valuable briefings, obtain insightful market research and have the opportunity to meet potential Indian franchisees. Itinerary items include country briefings with U.S. Embassy officials and U.S. Commercial Service officers, site visits and one-on-one matchmaking meetings with pre-screened local investors.


According to a recent KPMG and Franchise Association of India (FAI) report, the India franchise economy has a potential to grow to $51 billion in 2017 from the present $13.4 billion. The franchise industry is expected to contribute almost 4 percent of India's GDP in 2017. With the Indian economy recording a sustained annual GDP growth rate of 6 to 7 percent and the burgeoning Indian middle class promising to drive up nominal retail sales by 10 percent per year until 2020, the market is ripe for a franchising boom. Moreover, India offers an increasingly well-travelled population, many of whom have been educated in the U.S. and are familiar with and welcoming of U.S. brands.

The brands of the U.S. Franchise Trade Mission include Denny's, CKE Restaurants (Carl's Jr.), Golden Chick, BonChon, Edible Arrangements, Coldwell Banker and Seniors Helping Seniors, which include the Food and Beverages, Real Estate and, Health and Wellness sectors.

The U.S. Franchise Trade Mission to India has been organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Embassy of the United States of America in India.
