Metal Panels Inc. celebrates 15 years in the metal panel manufacturing business

TULSA, Okla. - Nov. 22, 2016 - PRLog -- This month marks the 15^th Anniversary for Metal Panels Inc. MPI began to take shape in the summer of 2001 and by that Fall became a reality as a two-man operation. At that time, President Mitchell Hentkowski was a Project Superintendent for Allwine Roofing and Construction and had recently purchased a small Through-Fastener panel roll-former, primarily for wall applications on some of their larger roofing projects. As a roofer, Hentkowski experienced a real lack of service in the marketplace and realized there was an opportunity for a small regional roll-former that could provide quick order turnaround. The idea of creating a component company to serve the industry from a roofing contractor's perspective was born.

At the outset, MPI had a very limited product line and color pallet, but steadily grew over the years by sticking to a simple principle: "If we can provide a service that is superior to what people consider 'normal', you can grow a business." Over the next 15 years Metal Panels Inc. did just that, focusing on superior service while steadily growing their product lines.

Today, Metal Panels Inc. has become a leading regional roll-former in spite of a crowded field of competitors. MPI operates two manufacturing and distribution centers located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kansas City, Kansas, serving the needs of metal building, post frame and roofing customers in a seven state area. Through industry ups and downs, we've gained some insights which have helped us become the manufacturer and supplier our customers want us to be:

1 – We have a mission. MPI's goal is not to produce metal panels or achieve profit margins; it is to serve local metal contractors and exceed their expectations. Our mission requires that we listen to our customers, evaluate their greatest needs, and strive to meet those needs. In doing so, we offer products and services that are highly relevant and offer greatest value to our customers. MPI now offers over 15 panel profiles, hundreds of colors, custom trim, flat sheets and a full line of accessories. Times may have changed, but our mission remains on track – to serve our customers better than anyone else.

2 – Relationships, trust and the long game. While sales and profits are certainly necessary, quick sales at the expense of your customers may cost you your business. From the start, MPI saw the importance of really knowing their customers, building trust, and developing lasting relationships. Going beyond the sale is routine at MPI.

3 – We are always within reach. Whether front desk phones, direct sales rep numbers, or website online information, Metal Panels Inc. offers many ways to stay in touch, during and after business hours. Contractors have information access, 24 hours a day.

Fifteen years of growth and service is something to celebrate. "Over the years MPI has significantly increased its product offerings while adding employees to accommodate our production growth and provide quality service," according to Mr. Hentkowski.
