Media Advisory - Jazz Bridge Unveils "Philadelphia Real Book Concert"
Jazz Bridge launches "Philadelphia Real Book" concert series in support by Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.

WHAT: On Saturday, December 3, 2016, nonprofit organization, Jazz Bridge will unveil the Philadelphia Real Book concert celebration, featuring legendary jazz guitarist, Pat Martino and his Trio, and the Uri Caine Trio. Philadelphia Real Book is supported by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
Jazz Bridge's Philadelphia Real Book, is comprised of original musical compositions by jazz and blues musicians in the Greater Philadelphia area (past and present), with an extraordinary concert series spotlighting some of Philly's supreme jazz artists. The Philadelphia Real Book concerts will take place at the University of the Arts: Caplan Recital Hall on December 3, 2016; February 25, 2017; March 4, 2017; and April 26, 2017. The December 3rd concert will feature a special panel that will focus on the neuroscience of music and improvisation, and explore the brain adapts to different neurological stimulus in the pursuit of the highest form of expression and creativity.
Martino is a Philadelphia native, recognized as one of the most compelling guitarists in jazz and throughout the music industry. He has performed with a variety of artists including: Sonny Stitt, Bobby Hutcherson, Chick Corea, and Stanley Clarke to name a few. World-renowned pianist, Uri Craine has performed at many festivals including the North Sea Jazz festival, the Monterey Jazz festival, the Montreal Jazz festival and the Newport Jazz festival. Martino and Caine will be the first musicians to kick-off the Philadelphia Real Book series. The opening concert will also include a reception serving complimentary wine and cheese for the public.
