The jewellery is based around Harriet's stunning signature style and magnolia branches, blossoms and circles. All of the pieces are made from fully hallmarked sterling silver from masters hand-cut by Harriet Bedford in her studio in Devon. Harriet's Defiance Lioness collection of 2014, is sold in support of The Born Free Foundation. The pieces are is highly desirable and elegant, but it is also beauty with a conscience as every piece bought from the collection earns a donation for the charity. A cause very close to Harriet's heart is that to eliminate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) "I have dealt personally with people traumatised by the practice of FGM and it is heartbreaking. It is a difficult situation to even begin to relate to. I have seen the devastation FGM causes and spoken to midwives about the pain and complications and danger of childbirth among these women. Action Aid are taking direct steps to eliminate FGM and I want to support them in the best way I know how to – with beauty and metal This is not an easy subject to raise and certainly not an easy sell, but my work is fearsome and lovely and I need to do this.
