OXNARD, Calif. - Nov. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- PODS Tri-Counties owner Steve Yapp's passion for his community knows no bounds. This year alone, he has contributed monetary and in-kind donations in the form of moving and storage services to more than 97 local non-profits, which is valued at over $95,000. This December, Yapp will enlist his team to carry the weight of Ventura County's most important holiday food drive, FOOD Share's 5th annual CAN-tree Collection, to cap off the company's charitable year.

Yapp has championed FOOD Share's annual holiday food drive since its launch in 2012, committing to caravan every can of food raised throughout the three-day event. Last year, PODS Tri-Counties transported more than 100,000 pounds for the community event. In addition to donating the use of his company's signature PODS containers to store and transport food, Yapp has also shares his exclusive plexiglass PODS container for Cumulus Media radio hosts to conduct live remotes, and donates funds toward radio and print advertising to help market the event.

"We've been a longtime supporter of FOOD Share because of the incredible work they do to feed Ventura County's most vulnerable. CAN-tree exemplifies everything the holiday season should represent: family, community and goodwill," explains Yapp. "It's truly inspiring to witness the community come together CAN-tree weekend to give back in a way that is fun and meaningful. We're proud to support this movement."

Giving back to the community is the heart of Yapp's business philosophy since opening PODS Tri-Counties 10 years ago. Several non-profits and community events PODS Tri-Counties has helped include: ArtWalk Ventura, Feed SoCal, Ventura County Stand Down, Boys and Girls Clubs, Salvation Army, Casa Pacifica, Optomist Club and local schools. Even when the community came together to celebrate PODS Tri-Counties' 10th Anniversary party, Yapp took the opportunity to donate $2,000 to each non-profit in attendance.

"It's an honor to serve this community," states Yapp. "And it's so important that businesses find ways to give back when they can. The world is a much better place when people continue to pay it forward and help their neighbors."
