Santa Claus for Paws and PODS Partner to Brighten the Holidays for Rescue Animals

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Nov. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The second annual "Santa Claus for Paws" holiday drive is gearing up to make the holidays a little brighter for animals without a forever home this season. Organizers are asking the community to help fill the Woodford Humane Society's stockings full of pet supplies for the next six months. From Thursday, Dec. 8 through Saturday, Dec. 10, PODS Lexington will donate the use of a PODS container to store all of the items donated for the holiday pet supply donation drive.

"We are honored to be a part of the Santa Claus for Paws donation drive for the second year in a row," expresses Ken Kocon, general manager of PODS Lexington. "Last year we were able to collect six months of supplies and every animal received a toy for the holidays."

During the three-day event, a PODScontainer will be placed at Krogers in Versalles to safely and securely store the donated items. The public is encouraged to drop off the following necessities to help support the animals who are currently waiting for their forever home: Feline Pine Brand Kitty Litter (non-clumping), bleach, detergent, paper towels, dog toys & treats, cat toys & treats, Canned Science Diet Dog Food (Wet), Canned Science Diet Cat Food (Wet), rawhide chews, trash bags, cat hammocks, grooming supplies, reams of copy, paper (white & color), postage stamps, gas cards (for vet trips).

"Last year's overwhelming generosity of donations by the community has inspired us to continue working to provide these animals with much needed supplies, "said Amber Griffith, co-founder of Santa Claus for Paws.  "We look forward to partnering with local businesses and PODS who to help us load all of the donations into the PODS container as we camp out during the three day drive."
