By: IntegraCare Led by Clearfield VFW Post 1785 Chaplain John McMahon, the honor guard saluted the 10 veterans who reside at the senior living community at 1300 Leonard Street. "This was such a moving and special tribute to our veterans," said Wanda Ferguson, Activities Director of Colonial Courtyard at Clearfield. "The honor guard does such a terrific job. It meant so much to all of us to see our veterans recognized by their fellow veterans from the American Legion and VFW posts." The veterans honor guard representing American Legion Post 6 and VFW Post 1785 provided a 21-gun salute, and a bugler performed Taps. Veteran residents were given the empty shell casings after the volley as a memento. The group also shared a cake decorated in a patriotic theme. "All of the residents, but especially our veterans, really appreciated the program," Ferguson said. "The residents really enjoyed talking and reminiscing with Mr. McMahon and the Veterans Honor Guard. Our entire community was humbled by this group spending time with us on such a special day."
