Big Sean's Non Profit the Sean Anderson Foundation Announces Thanksgiving Giveaway in Detroit

DETROIT - Nov. 16, 2016 - PRLog -- G.O.O.D. Music / Def Jam Recordings Artist Big Sean and his Detroit non-profit, the Sean Anderson Foundation (SAF) have announced that they will sponsor this year's ALL STAR THANKSGIVING GIVEAWAY at River Rouge High School on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

With a goal to help over 3,500 families and individuals in need, 2016 marks the fourth year that Big Sean and the SAF have partnered to distribute turkeys, canned goods and holiday meal trimmings with Tarence Wheeler Productions.

"This day of giving is something that the foundation looks forward to all year," expressed Michael Fair, Board Member at the Sean Anderson Foundation. "When we first started this event, in 2013, we were able to give 650 turkeys to families who were likely not going to have a Thanksgiving without our help. Last year, we gave out turkeys, canned goods and boxed foods to over 2,000 families! Not only is that fantastic growth, it's also a clear indication that children and families throughout Detroit really benefit from this event."

The return as a fourth year sponsor of the ALL STAR THANKSGIVING GIVEAWAY comes on the heels of a banner year of giving for the SAF. In January, launched in partnership with CrowdRise and an initial donation of $10,000 from Big Sean and the Sean Anderson Foundation, the #HEALFLINTSKIDS viral crowdsourcing fundraiser was established to raise funds for the ongoing efforts to ensure the long-term health of Flint families and children affected by the 2014-2016 water crisis. With generous donations from campaign partner the Focus for Health Foundation, in addition to support from Cleveland Browns Wide Receiver Andrew Hawkins, Roc Nation's DJ Mustard and BOOTS, Comedian Hannibal Burress and the Michigan State University Interfraternity Council, #HEALFLINTSKIDS raised a total of $82,755 for the Community Foundation of Greater Flint's Flint Child Health & Development Fund.

In June, the SAF committed $25,000 towards establishing an endowment for the Wayne State University HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher) Program, and the funds will be used to provide short-term support to Wayne State students experiencing homelessness or precarious housing situations.

The ALL STAR THANKSGIVING GIVEAWAY will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is open to all, on a first come, first served basis. River Rouge High School is located at 1460 W.
