JMA Pilani Celebrates National Children's Day

PILANI, India - Nov. 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Nehru was an Indian nationalist leader and statesman who played a central role in the negotiations over Indian independence. He implemented moderate socialist economic reforms and committed India to a policy of industrialization. He was undoubtedly architect of modern India.

Smt Jamuna Mishra Academy JMA Pilani has established a rich tradition of celebrating various days of national as well as global importance. JMA celebrated on 14 November 2016 Children's Day to pay homage to the country's first Prime Minister Pt Jawaharlal Nehru on his 127th birth anniversary. Nehru was born November 14, 1889 in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. Nehru's birthday is also celebrated as Children's Day as he was fond of kids.

JMA organized a fancy dress show for the junior children who came dressed up as Hanuman, Clown, Doctor, Marwari Businessman, Commando, Beauty Queen, Angel, Lord Krishna and Radha, Banker, Superstar Rajnikanth, Bollywood Dabangg Salman Khan and above all indomitable Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi etc who entertained the audience.  Dhanraj of Class 1 dressed up as Chacha Nehru with a rose pinned to the famous jacket was a star attraction for the day.

In the school assembly, Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan urged the students to come out of the rut of gadget based virtual friendships and make real life friends. Today children spend time surfing the internet in computers, watching cartoons in Television, playing mobile games and having virtual friends in Social media networks such as Facebook, WhatsApp etc. The principal gave a clarion call to put an end to such life and asked the children to go out, get some fresh air, play in the grass, get messy, get hurt, catch the sunlight, chase the butterflies, run around, scream, laugh and enjoy their childhood.

On this occasion, Chairperson Dr Suman Mishra who is a renowned gynecologist in USA gave away the various medals for winners of National Sports Day which was conducted on 29 August 2016 in collaboration with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry FICCI, Fitness365 and All India Council of Physical Education AICPE. She urged the students to be disciplined and do their best for Swachh Bharat as well as excel in sports by winning laurels at State level, National Level and International level which gives everyone a sense of identity and national pride.

The celebrations ended with the School Band playing the National Anthem.
