The article noted that these reports collected samples coming from the airlines' galleys or the place where flight attendants fill these pitchers and sinks on 14 various flights. Meanwhile, federal aviation boards and environmental protection agencies are said to be in-charge of the onboard water containers that have to be maintained and cleaned on a regular basis. But back in 2004, the article noted that environmental protection agencies were able to find water supplies positive of "harmless bacteria" that are "indicators that other disease-causing organisms could be in the water."
