Flash Max, along with friends Al-Arm the Smoke Alarm and Zoor the Door, share home fire safety tips with children in a colorful picture book! Flash Max: Fire Safety Superhero, written and illustrated by real-life firefighter and U.S. Air Force veteran Michael Furman, celebrates fire safety with a comic book flair. Be smart, have a plan, and stay low!

Author Michael Furman is a 16-year veteran professional firefighter with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department in Virginia assigned to Truck Company 411 at the Penn Daw Firehouse, where he currently holds the rank of Master Technician (Driver/Operator). He is a 30-year life member of the LaPlata Volunteer Fire Department in Charles County, Maryland, where he resides with his wife Heidi and their three children. Michael is also a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as a Firefighter and Rescue Specialist at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada from 1989 to 1992.

"Flash Max is like Smokey the Bear meets Superman! He's a fun character with a serious message of fire safety. Kids will love him!" raved fellow author and firefighter Paul Hashagen (FDNY Rescue Company 1 (retired), former chief / active member of Freeport Fire Department, contributing author at Fire Rescue Magazine, and author of several book on the history of the fire service).
