Prospect Financial Group helps educate about suicide prevention
The walk took place at Liberty Station near Downtown San Diego this past weekend, where hundreds gathered to honor lost loved ones. Prospect Financial Group's own, Laura Bromhead, participated in the walk to honor Lexi Matarrese. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) has chapters in all 50 states and has a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025. All proceeds went towards research and educating the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention. The AFSP promotes policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention as well as provides programs and resources to survivors of suicide loss and people at risk by getting them involved in the foundation. Over 2,000 participants completed a 5k walk and listened to stories told by survivors and their families while collectively raising over $113,000.
"Prospect Financial Group is a big supporter of suicide prevention. When we found out one of our own was participating in the walk, we jumped at the chance to sponsor her team." Stated Jason Vondrak, President at Prospect Financial Group, Inc.
