New Online Community Tackles Tyranny of Toys

OAKLAND, Calif. - Nov. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- "I have felt tormented by what I call toy tyranny," says Rhonda Collins, Oakland resident, mother of two and the founder of a new startup called TOY-CYCLE.ORG.

"First there's the cost of toys and then the constant clutter. Finally there's the environmental impact when it comes to disposing of the toys your kids have outgrown. Our new website addresses all three."

How does it work? TOY-CYCLE.ORG will allow families to give, get or exchange free used toys and games within a local user community.

Says Collins, "Ready to pass on a toy or game? Get online and offer it up to your local group. Another family wants it. Or let's say you see a post for a toy or game you want. You just respond to the posting family and make arrangements to go get it. Since the local group is geographically small, they may live only a few blocks from you. No shipping, no packaging, no money changing hands. And it's for 'kids' of all ages. People can swap board games or poker chips as easily as wooden blocks, dolls and Lego sets."

TOY-CYCLE.ORG launches an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign today. The funds will be used to finish the development of the website and to expand the network throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
