Stonehurst Place Joins 'B&Bs For Vets' to host service men and women Veteran's Day 2016
Atlanta's only Select Registry bed & breakfast inn donates accommodation to honor and remember servicemen and women serving our country.
Stonehurst Place is Atlanta's only B&B participating in the B&Bs For Vets program, and has participated each year since the program's inception. This eco-friendly bed and breakfast inn features deluxe rooms and suites with gourmet breakfast served to guests each morning. In addition to a large collection of books coveted by guests for their interesting and varied subject matter, the inn juxtaposes museum-quality art with family photos of the original owners and their son who served and died in WWI.
"I can't thank you enough for your great hospitality,"
"Many of my family members and ancestors were inspired to serve in our US armed forces, including my father, brother, and Revolutionary War patriot Jonathan Belcher" says Barb Shadomy, interior designer and owner of Stonehurst Place. "It is a stressful job for those protecting freedoms, maintaining peace, and providing relief in our cities and around the globe, and a good night's rest at Stonehurst Place is our way to say thank you."
About Stonehurst Place
Built in 1896, award-winning Stonehurst Place is Atlanta's only eco-friendly, luxury Bed & Breakfast Inn. Because it belonged to the same family for over 100 years, this bed and breakfast retains much of its original layout, features and hardware. Guests are treated to the unique combination of restored features of the home and modern luxuries such as heated Carrara marble floors, deluxe two-person spa tubs, and Corian®-clad walk in showers. Owner and interior designer Barb Shadomy's environmentally friendly work restored and renovated Stonehurst beyond it's original grandeur, incorporating solar panels and other green features into this eco-friendly Atlanta bed & breakfast inn. About B&Bs For Vets
The B&Bs for Vets program started in 2008 when Kathleen Penek, co-owner of the Gillum House, and a handful of other innkeepers in West Virginia opened their doors to veterans in honor of Veteran's Day. The program grew in popularity among innkeepers, and throughout the tenure of this program thousands of inns and B&Bs in the US and Canada participated by offering free rooms to veterans. This year, the Association of Independent Hospitality Professionals coordinates the B&Bs for Vets program as a way to help veterans learn about today's B&B experience.
Reservations must be made directly with the participating Inns and B&Bs, and a valid Military or VA ID is required for every reservation. For more information on B&Bs For Vets visit www.BandBsForVets.org (https://bandbsforvets.org/
