New article released showing statistical trends in lies by politicians

WEST JORDAN, Utah - Nov. 7, 2016 - PRLog -- Curtis Miller released today a new article that describes trends in PolitiFact scores for honesty by politically active individuals, which is available on his website. He hopes his article will inform voters, as voting ends on Tuesday, November 8th, 2016.

Curtis Miller scraped PolitiFact's website and used R and Python to explore PolitiFact's data set. He found that, according to PolitiFact's data, Republicans are more dishonest than Democrats. The top 20 most honest individuals on PolitiFact's website are mostly Democrats, while the bottom 20 are mostly Republicans.

Hillary Clinton, according to this data, was the most honest individual running for President in 2016, followed closely by Bernie Sanders and John Kaisich. Ben Carson was the most dishonest individual to run, followed by Donald Trump.

Additionally, Republicans have a disproportionate share of falsehoods, unlike Democrats.

Curtis Miller created graphics to illustrate what topics are featured in Republican and Democrat truthful and false statements. The most interesting revelation in these graphics is that Republicans largely lie about Obama.

Curtis Miller provides tables rating the honesty of individuals on PolitiFact's website. He also provides code in R, Python, and SQL so that others may replicate his results.
