DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Nov. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Ivan Cosimi, CEO of Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Health Services (SMA) is pleased to announce that SMA has been awarded Stetson University's Greenfeather grant award as part of Stetson's Homecoming Week celebration.

The $10,000 grant will help fund improvements, including a new fitness trail, at SMA's Deland Men's Residential Treatment Program.

Greenfeather is the student-driven philanthropy program of the Center for Community Engagement providing support to local non-profit organizations through fundraisers and donation drives. A long-held tradition at Stetson, Greenfeather originated in 1952, as an autumn carnival where students raised funds for local charities. Over the decades, Greenfeather expanded into a weeklong competition between student teams and in 2014 it was merged with Homecoming Week.

Stetson presented the $10,000 check to members of the SMA team during the halftime celebration of the Homecoming football game held Saturday at Spec Martin Municipal Stadium in Deland.

"We're so grateful to all the hardworking students who competed during Stetson Homecoming Week to raise these funds," said Cosimi. "It is our pleasure to use these funds to improve the lives of our residents at our Deland Men's Residential Treatment Program."
