VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Nov. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- Owner of Troopster Military Care Packages/Active Duty US Navy Sailor Chelsea Mandello launched her online custom care package business in November 2015.  As she nears the one year anniversary of the Troopster launch, Mandello is planning to gather community members throughout the Hampton Roads region to donate goods, stuff and prepare 500 care packages that will be shipped to single service members deployed over the holiday season.

Chelsea is approximately ⅓ of the way to her $6,000 fundraising goal.  The $6,000 will cover shipping costs as well as items needed.  So far Chelsea has partnered with various churches, schools, and businesses across the country to donate items that will be packed up on November 18 at Slover Library during the community care package event.  At this event volunteers will stuff each care package with a variety of items ranging from snacks to entertainment, plus a special note to the receiving service member so they know the care package items were donated from across the country and that their sacrifices to protect America's freedom and liberty are much appreciated.  To RSVP to the care package event at Slover Library go to the public facebook event:  https://www.facebook.com/events/194044390991219/.

Sought after items include the following:  Goldfish crackers, socks (black, green, tan), games/puzzle books, squirt/Nerf guns, chapstick, Cheez-its, ear plugs, eye masks, oreos, beef jerky, cookies, cereal, slim jims, sunglasses, lotion, deodorant, chef boyardee meals, tuna/chicken salad lunch packs, sunflower seeds, protein bars, Jack Link's sticks, PBFit Protein, bottled water, peanut butter and headphones.  Anyone unable to donate items in person is invited to visit the Troopster Go Fund Me campaign here:  https://www.gofundme.com/Troopster.

When Mandello was asked what inspired her to launch Troopster she said, "Deployments can feel like you're living in the movie Groundhog Day.  You work, eat, sleep and repeat.  When the days begin to blur together a carefully crafted care package is a much appreciated thank you and reminder that someone back home is thinking of you."
