Big Bucks for Bacon in World Food Championship

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Nov. 3, 2016 - PRLog -- Andreann Geise certainly thinks she can cook to compete for prize money, and she is planning to prove it as she publicly launches her bacon recipe.

Geise,  from Socastee, South Caroline, is competing in the world's largest food fight.  She qualified for the world's largest event in Food Sport - the World Food Championships (WFC), and from November 9-15 she will be competing for a $300,000 prize purse and the title of 2016 World Food Champion in Orange Beach, Alabama.


Now in its fifth year, The World Food Championships platform ranges from live-event competitions to a robust multimedia platform that helps pro chefs, home cooks, and competition teams achieve food fame and fortune as TV's next big food stars.

Geise's team is one of 430 from across the world who will be seeking the ultimate food crown. She won the chance to compete at WFC by winning Just A Pinch's online recipe contest. She will  now have a shot at a major payday at WFC, where $100,000 is awarded for the best dish overall and $10,000 is awarded in nine different categories: BBQ, Chili, Dessert, Bacon, Sandwich, Seafood, Burger, Steak, and Recipe.

"Winning my category would be an incredible feat," said Geise "But winning the whole tournament with the best dish would be a dream come true!"

Geise is also one of 13 people chosen to do talks and showcase demonstrations at this year's event.

There's also a good chance that Geise will be seen on TV, as this event is filmed for national cable television each year. It has been seen on the A&E Network as well as the Discovery Network.

Geise is experienced in the world of Food Sport. Starting with her win on the hometown favorite episode of Ultimate Recipe Showdown 2 on Food Network, she has since appeared on the cooking channel and shared the stage with celebrity chefs such as Guy Fieri, Fabio Viviani and Aaron McCargo Jr.

She enjoys competitive cooking as well as judging and is a South Carolina Barbeque Association ambassador, senior judge and novice instructor.

Her dishes have been served at large events such as NYC Fashion Week and Bon Appetit Supper club, and she has had many recipes published in multiple magazines.
