WINNIPEG, Manitoba - Oct. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- Two Winnipeg entrepreneurs are bringing environmentally responsible art to our city. Living Edge Handcrafted Furnishings (http://www.livingedgefurnishings.com/) and Robert Lowdon Gallery (http://www.robertlowdon.com/single-post/2016/10/18/New-Artist-Gallery-Offers-Winnipeg-Amazing-Views-of-the-World) share a passion for protecting our environment.

Robert Lowdon is a Winnipeg-based photographic artist whose work captures the overpowering beauty of our natural world - his images remind the viewer of what could be lost if it is not protected. The Gallery showcases a 5 year long project spread across North America. Lowdon's work has been previously sold through the Winnipeg Art Gallery and has numerous commercial clients including MTS, The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, TD Bank, and The Government of Canada. Lowdon is also a long time member of The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. "I really believe in Winnipeg business and wanted to bring something really unique to the downtown core. Teaming up with Ryan is a great fit, we are passionate about our art and make products that really complement each other."

Ryan Henderson uses salvaged wood to create one-of-a-kind furniture that incorporates natural rough edges and characteristics of the original tree into its design. Living Edge Furnishings believes in the future of our planet. Working with local arborists and using wood destined for landfills, Henderson produces furniture that is both beautiful and environmentally friendly, going so far as to use a solar kiln to dry all wood products 100 per cent emission free. "I really want to make this world a better place, and want to preserve the environment for the future. Sure, the whole process takes much more time and effort but it's important to give back."

They'll host the grand opening of their new shared space, 389 Graham Avenue, on Thursday, October 27 at 5pm with a celebration to follow.

During the grand opening donations will gratefully be accepted for Tree Canada (https://treecanada.ca/en/) to bolster Canada's urban forests and inspire people to participate in, and advocate for, community greening.

Both Henderson and Lowdon were brought together in their search for a location through CentreVenture's Pop Up Shop Hop (PUSH) program.
