EASTON, Md. - Oct. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- The Candle Light Cove Assisted Living and Memory Care community will hold a Grand Opening event to showcase the results of a multi-million dollar, year-long project to build new units and renovate the existing structure.

The Grand Opening will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 at the senior living community located at 106 West Earle Avenue in Easton. A ribbon-cutting will be held at 5:15 p.m.

"We are very grateful to have the opportunity to be part of the greater Easton community," said Richard Irwin, CEO of IntegraCare, which operates Candle Light Cove. "The state-of-the-art senior living community at Candle Light Cove with its 64 units is large enough to provide a full range of amenities, yet offers a residential and warm environment. The renovated existing buildings offer two Life Stories memory care neighborhoods. One neighborhood will specialize in the intermediate stage of memory care and the other in the later stage."

The new addition will offer full service assisted living in spacious private apartments. The new assisted living building is 24,223 square feet and features 12 one-bedroom units and 20 deluxe studios.

"The 12 new units are complemented by a salon and club room, as well as an aviary," Candle Light Cove Executive Director Cissy Nickel said. "There is an activities and crafts room, a library with a computer lab, and a spacious dining room with a fireplace."

The one-bedroom apartments feature a living room, private bath and a kitchenette area. The building also has a large, covered front porch and a rear sunroom. A wellness area and resident and commercial laundry areas are included.

More than 40 percent of the units already are reserved in the new building.

"The project put an emphasis on the needs of the senior residents and our team at Candle Light Cove," said Loriann Putzier, President and Chief Operating Officer at IntegraCare. "The results are outstanding. The new Candle Light Cove provides modern amenities and spacious units."

In conjunction with the Grand Opening event, local author Jay Fleming will hold a book signing of his new title, "Working the Water," which is a photographic narrative of the lives of those who work the waters of the Chesapeake watershed. The signing will take place from 4:30 to 5 p.m., and the first 50 attendees at the Grand Opening will receive a free signed copy. The next 100 people will receive his 2017 calendar as well as other door prizes and giveaways.

Entertainment will be provided by Bird Dog and the Road Kings. Oysters will be shucked to order as well as other hors d'oeuvres, including Eastern Shore favorites, will be served.
