Follow on Google News | Collier Child Care Resources Receives $11,500 from The CarMax FoundationThe CarMax Foundation has been a supporter of CCCR since 2013. For the past three years, they have been a member of the CCCR Business 100; therefore, a portion of the grant will be designated for membership in this group of businesses which helps support CCCR's early childhood education programs. Bill Mahoney, Location General Managersaid, "At CarMax we recognize important needs in the community, particularly when it comes to the children. Our partnership with CCCR provides us with the connection we need to make it all happen. Through CCCR we are assured that our support and team efforts directly benefit the children." CCCR's mission is to provide high quality early childhood care, education and resources to children, families and early learning professionals in Collier County. CCCR served 275 children in 2015-2016 in its early childhood education programs. Many of the children who attend the programs are at risk for academic failure and come from lower-income working families, with some living at or below the poverty level. Niccole Howard, Executive Director of CCCR said, "We are extremely grateful for the generosity of The CarMax Foundation grant monies and the support of the local team which volunteers its time and talents to projects each year for the children. We benefit not only in monetary terms, but in the real connection we have with their employees on a local level."
