Music Industry All Stars Presented with Legends Award at Music Conference

CLEVELAND - Oct. 24, 2016 - PRLog -- The Nerve DJ's held their 13^th Annual Music Conference in Cleveland last week and it brought out the best of the best in the industry.  The 3-day conference included showcases, industry panels and even a writing session for those passionate about creating music. The industry panels gave the audience an opportunity to learn about the business side of the music industry.  "We believe that it is important for the artist to have good business acumen paired with creative ability to be successful in this industry; we allow them to ask us real questions and commit to giving real answers as well" says Quincy "Big Heff" Taylor, VP of the Nerve Djs.

While some of the panelists have been involved in the Nerve DJ's conference and events in the past, they were in for a surprise this year.  Sway Calloway, legendary radio personality most known for his work on MTV and now Sway in the Morning on Sirus XM radio was presented with the Legends Award at the conference. Conference attendees could learn firsthand about how to build and maintain a brand, how to get their music on the radio and how to build a great fan base from Sway and the other panelists.

Lord Jazz from Lords of the Underground, James McMillan; entertainment lawyer and CEO of EST 19xx were two other legends presented with awards during the conference among other DJs from the area.  Everyone who received the award seemed surprised and humbled. "To receive NERVE's 'Legends Award' in my hometown and among many of my peers and players in the industry was a high honor" said James.  The weekend was filled with networking and media opportunities for the young and veteran artists. They got a chance to meet with and talk to industry leaders to build connections that will last a lifetime.  The information was valuable and could be put in practice immediately.  The three-day music conference wrapped up with an R&B showcase where artists where able to perform in front of a crowd filled with industry executives and power players.  With this conference, the Nerve DJs could impact the careers of numerous aspiring artists while still holding an event that is authentic, relatable and tangible. Next year's conference is sure to be even more informative with new panels, workshops and events.
