Follow on Google News | Twelve-year-old Creates Wuf Shanti To Help Other Kids Through Mindfulness And YogaWuf Shanti promotes health, wellness and happiness in children
By: Wuf Shanti Adam created Wuf Shanti to promote health, wellness, and happiness in kids. It started in honor of his great-grandpa. They were very close, and when Grandpa Jack passed away, Adam wanted to honor him by paying forward Grandpa's beliefs: Think Well to Be Well, Smile and the World Will Smile With You, and Smile and Say Thank You. "My goal is to help kids live mindfully so they can deal with stress and heal faster," Adam said. "I want us to be kind to one another, and make the world a better place," he said. Adam's passion for helping others led him to become one of the youngest certified yoga instructors in Florida and has inspired mainstream celebrities like Adam Levine of 'Maroon 5' and The Voice to post about the Wuf Shanti movement on social media. His theory is that if we can teach kids yogic-tools when they are young, these tools will become second nature, and then kids will have more productive ways of dealing with emotions as they grow-up. These tools will help children be more empathetic, less anxious and depressed teenagers, and more content, happy peace-loving adults. "Our mission is to teach the next generation how to live healthier and happier lives; how to think positively and look on the bright side of life; how to appreciate and focus on what is good; how to live in gratitude; and how to be kind, empathetic and spread love and peace," said Wuf Shanti' co-founder and CEO Marni Becker-Avin. The Children's Television Network is distributing the Wuf Shanti videos to their children's hospitals across the nation. He also shares his message in person at hospitals, festivals, yoga studious, charity events and schools. Wuf Shanti is currently producing a television pilot as he continues to teach yoga and meditation to children everywhere.
