Family to Travel to "The Happiest Place on Earth" for a Final Family Vacation

Three generations of family to travel to Disneyland to celebrate the life of an ALS patient

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Oct. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- Sixty-one-year-old Karen Fletcher, of Bremerton, Washington, will have her final Dream fulfilled by Dream Foundation, the only national dream-granting program for terminally-ill adults, when she, her children, and grandchildren travel to Anaheim, California to enjoy a final family vacation at Disneyland.

Karen, who was diagnosed with ALS in February 2016, has trouble walking and relies upon a walker and manual wheelchair to help her get around.  Karen chose a trip to Disneyland with her family as her final Dream because, "…you feel like a child when you are there.  It's the most wonderful place on the face of the earth." Dream Foundation, together with its longtime donor, Grand Legacy at the Park, is thrilled to make this Dream a reality.

In addition to providing accommodations for Karen, her children, and grandchildren, Grand Legacy at the Park will host the family for the Disneyland Fireworks in its new rooftop lounge, The Fifth, when they arrive on October 24.  Additionally, Grand Legacy will host the family for a celebration with dinner and delights on October 25, helping to create wonderful memories of a final family vacation.

"It has been our privilege and honor to help make 'Dreamers' have their Dreams fulfilled in their most desperate of times for the last 20 years," says Grand Legacy at the Park General Manager, Marshall Weinstein. "Knowing we are playing a role in helping Dream Foundation assist families to create one last happy memory is a great feeling".

Grand Legacy at the Park and Dream Foundation have enjoyed 20 years of working together to fulfill the Dreams of terminally-ill adults.  The two fulfilled their first Dream together in 1997 and since then, have fulfilled final Dreams to more than 125 individuals and their families.

"Grand Legacy at the Park has been a supporter of Dreams almost since the beginning," says Dream Foundation's Chief Executive Officer, Kisa Heyer. "To celebrate 20 years of fulfilling Dreams together is truly remarkable. We are incredibly thankful for their continuous generosity."
