A Menu to Fall in Love With: Metropolis Introduces New Fall Plates to Menu

BOSTON - Oct. 20, 2016 - PRLog -- (BOSTON, MA) — Metropolis, a casual Mediterranean style café, is introducing their spin on fall dishes this season with an updated menu that takes inspiration from seasonal produce and fall flavors. Opening its doors in 1995, Metropolis has been a staple in Boston's South End for years. Known for spearheading what is known as "Restaurant Row," they are serving up seasonal, homey dishes the neighborhood has depended on over 20 years, and this fall season is no different with the launch of their new menu.

With new dishes on the appetizer menu like Eggplant Tartare served with a tomato-caper relish, garlicky dill yogurt, crispy onions and a cured egg yolk ($8.90), Metropolis is bringing fresh takes on fall favorites this season! Also on the appetizer menu are plates such as Kale and Brussels Salad with roasted delicata squash, honey crisp apple, golden raisins, pepitas and a sherry vinaigrette ($9.90) and Roasted Bone Marrow prepared with pickled vegetables, herb salad, curry aioli with a piece of grilled sourdough ($13.90).

The new fall menu also features a Honeynut Squash Risotto made with golden beets, caramelized onions, crispy sage and pepitas ($17.50). Other mains to look forward to trying is a Pan Roasted Lemon Sole served with tomato braised eggplant ratatouille and littleneck clam vinaigrette ($27.85), Roasted & Stuffed Delicata Squash with a poppy seed spaetzli, autumn squash, smoked duck liver bacon with an apple-miso puree and duck jus ($21.85), and a Braised Lamb Shank made with tomato braised haricot verts, garlic yogurt, Maine grain grits and a crispy onions ($28.90).

Dinner is not complete without drinks and dessert and Metropolis has prepared well for the fall season. The craft cocktail menu features fall inspired drinks like the Stormy Autumn made with Goslings, ginger and cinnamon ($11) and the 584 Gimlet with Tito's and Clear Creek Cranberry ($12.75). End dinner with a dessert reminiscent of fall time with the family, such as the Sweet Potato Meringue Pie served with a vanilla bourbon anglaise ($6.85) or the Honey Crisp Apple Crumble with an almond oat crunch, salted caramel and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream ($7).

Jeffrey Gates joined the Aquitaine Group a few years later and in 2003, Gates was instrumental in opening Union Bar and Grille and later Gaslight Brasserie du coin, both in the South End. Recognized for his consummate professionalism, extensive wine knowledge, methodical and meticulous approach to business, Gates brings a wealth of experience and an unprecedented understanding of the Boston restaurant scene to the Aquitaine Group.
