WASHINGTON - Oct. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- Dr. Salem-Murdock joined Maroc4Invest, an organization she views as an excellent example of what Morocco has to offer potential US and other investors: young, energetic, strongly adaptive and extremely competent. Having resided in Morocco for almost 7 years, in her capacity of MCC's Compact I Director, she observed, firsthand, the impressive economic progress that Morocco has achieved in the last 10 years. She also witnessed the opportunities that a country like Morocco presents. The appointment of Muneera Salem-Murdock will help Maroc4Invest to better understand how to best connect investment opportunities in Morocco with US market needs for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Former US Ambassador to Morocco Edward M. Gabriel has noted: "Having been the US Ambassador to Morocco, I can say that Morocco has a special relationship with the United States. The Millennium Challenge Compact, with a total investment of 700 million dollars during the course of almost 7 years (2007-2014), was a timely and important part of these strong ties. Muneera did an excellent job of collaborating with the Moroccan authorities and a wide range of stakeholders from many sectors to ensure the success of the Compact's implementation. Her work in Morocco is very well regarded and her friendships testify to her success."

Morocco, with its strategic geographic position between Europe and Africa, has increasingly become a strategic partner of the United States, including in dealings with Europe, the Middle East and Africa in both commercial and social endeavors. Morocco is a great US partner, particularly in Africa, given Morocco's valuable experience in banking, telecommunications, and mining but also in terms of its infrastructure, renewable energy projects, and health care facilities for its African neighbors.

Given her wide range of experience in the MENA region throughout her career at MCC, USAID, and the World Bank, Dr. Salem-Murdock will be a valuable asset for US-Moroccan partnership.
