By: The American Association of Bariatric Counselors Dr. Alenazi is a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon and head of the general surgery department of the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His professional career has been dedicated to the care and treatment of morbidly obese patients. His current research interests include clinical outcomes from various bariatric surgical procedures and investigations on the impact of bariatric surgery on type II diabetes. He completed his residency training at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and did specialized fellowships at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC and the University of Montreal in Montreal Canada. Dr. Alenazi's qualifications as a bariatric surgeon and bariatric counselor, bridges both the physical and social sciences. His clinical surgical experience and specialized counseling education and training, offers unique competency in understanding the biological mechanisms, psychological processes and social influence of obesities. Dr. Alenazi's commitment to global health and vast knowledge and scholarship will further the AABC goal of providing specialized bariatric education and credentialing standards for licensed, certified health and education professionals around the world. AABC Board Certified Bariatric Professionals are licensed, certified health and education professionals.
