MONTVALE, N.J. - Oct. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- Dr. Naif Alenazi, a board-certified surgeon who practices in Saudi Arabia, is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery, the International College of Surgeons, andthe American society of metabolic and bariatric surgery, (ASMBS), as well as a Board Certified Fellow of the American Association of Bariatric Counselors (AABC).

Dr. Alenazi is a Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeon and head of the general surgery department of the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His professional career has been dedicated to the care and treatment of morbidly obese patients.

His current research interests include clinical outcomes from various bariatric surgical procedures and investigations on the impact of bariatric surgery on type II diabetes.

He completed his residency training at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and did specialized fellowships at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC and the University of Montreal in Montreal Canada.

Dr. Alenazi's qualifications as a bariatric surgeon and bariatric counselor, bridges both the physical and social sciences. His clinical surgical experience and specialized counseling education and training, offers unique competency in understanding the biological mechanisms, psychological processes and social influence of obesities.

Dr. Alenazi's commitment to global health and vast knowledge and scholarship will further the AABC goal of providing specialized bariatric education and credentialing standards for licensed, certified health and education professionals around the world.

AABC Board Certified Bariatric Professionals are licensed, certified health and education professionals. They include medical doctors, professional educators, mental health professionals, nurses, nutritionists and other related disciplines that engage in research, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of obesities and related disorders.

Board Certification by the American Association of Bariatric Counselors affirms that their fellows have successfully completed all requisite training and education. They must continue their specialized training and education to maintain Board Certification.
