PBS Engineering and Environmental Opens Issaquah Office

Responding to the growing needs of their Puget Sound clientele, the firm opened its sixth location in the state to support infrastructure design and improvement projects.

ISSAQUAH, Wash. - Oct. 19, 2016 - PRLog -- PBS Engineering and Environmental, a nationally-recognized engineering firm with more than 200 employees, has announced the opening of a new office in Issaquah, Washington. The location will focus on civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering services for public and private infrastructure projects.

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, PBS is comprised of 10 offices throughout the Northwest, including six locations in Washington State. For its current expansion, the firm selected the Issaquah community for its proximity to their Seattle operations, growing professional talent pool, and business friendly environment.

"We've been serving the Puget Sound region from our Seattle office since 1992," said Brian Stanford, the firm's COO and Seattle Operations Manager. "The surge of infrastructure growth in the region has spurred many clients to seek out turnkey capabilities. By utilizing firms that are equipped to address the full life-cycle of a project, clients typically benefit from greater cost savings and the ease of having a single contact for multiple services. We're positioning ourselves to meet this growing demand, particularly for clients we've served for decades in other capacities."

PBS currently holds a number of notable contracts in the Seattle metro area, including environmental contracts with the Washington Department of Enterprise Services, University of Washington, and the Port of Seattle. The firm recently provided environmental clean-up consulting for the Washington State Patrol in the region, and is entering the pre-design phase of a wastewater treatment facility for the agency.

The opening of the Issaquah office adds to a landmark year for the firm, which included the acquisition of Northwest engineering firm HDJ Design Group in April 2016. The merger added 70 staff members and significant engineering, surveying, and planning capabilities.

"The expansion of our engineering staff has been immensely valuable to our projects in southwest and eastern Washington. It's been our desire to offer the same resources to clients in the Puget Sound region for some time. Our Issaquah engineering office allows us to achieve that goal," noted Guy Neal, the firm's President.

The office is led by David Segal, a local resident of Issaquah and engineer with more than 20 years of experience in public works engineering, construction management, hydrology, site design, and roadway engineering. "David has a solid reputation as a leader in the field of infrastructure engineering. He's known for his ability to develop solutions to the complex stormwater challenges often seen in Northwest communities," said Neal. David's outside experience includes oversight of several stormwater contracts for the City of Issaquah.

"His positive track record as a project manager, team collaborator, and technical leader will ensure work products from our Issaquah office meet the high standard of quality PBS has committed to for more than 35 years," said Neal.

Working alongside Segal will be a team of engineering and environmental professionals, both from PBS' current ranks and new hires over the next year. "We're excited about PBS' expansion in the area," Segal said. "The eastside communities of Issaquah and Bellevue are some of the fastest-growing areas within the state, and we're eager to bring jobs and support for the region's infrastructure as it develops."

The new office is located at 1180 NW Maple Street, Suite 160, Issaquah, WA 98027.
