EDMONTON, Alberta - Oct. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- The Lower Mainland Downs Syndrome Society made a booking with a local DJ almost a year in advance of their 2016 Annual Christmas Party for persons with Downs Syndrome but the DJ recently informed them that due to unforseen circumstances, he was unable to provide the services as previous contracted for. The DJ suggested they may contact Soundmax DJ Services due to the high level of discounted community events they provide each year. unfortunately, Soundmax DJ Services, run by DJ James aka The Canadian Comedian has relocated their offices and services to Edmonton, Alberta.

DJ James is a member of the Canadian Professional DJ Association and licensed through CONNECT Music Licensing. He reached out to fellow DJ's to see if someone was able to help the LMDSS with the event. He received no replies as this is the busy Christmas Party season and most events are booked up to a year in advance. Knowing that if other members of the CPDJA had been available they would have jumped in without question, "the members of the association are industry professionals and are proud of not only their industry but also about the level of giving back to all Canadian communities" stated DJ James.

DJ James has bookings for both his DJ Services and his Stand Up Comedy performeances throughout the holiday but happened to have this date open and wanted to ensure the music was not turned off for this years event, he decided that he will pack up equipment and make the over 1100 KM drive (each way) to ensure they have a DJ, Sound and Lighting for the event. The society was provided a very generous dicounted rate for the services from the previous DJ Company of $200. DJ James will honour that price even though the fuel costs alone will be over $600. to ensure that this event happens and that the Christmas spirit arrives for the clients of the Lower Mainland Downs Syndrom Society's event.

DJ James is no stranger to Christmas giving (or giving thoughout the year). He has also donated DJ Services for the 2016 DW Poppy Car Show, various fundraising events, assistsed with delivery of over 30,000 lbs of essential needs donationals to the victims of the Fort McMurray Wildfires and supports many charities through financial and other contributions.

He also works for Kary Movers Ltd who has offices in both Edmonton and Vancouver. The owner of Kary Movers (also his brother) donated the use of 5 ton trucks and fuel costs for one week each Christmas season to collect donations for the local food bank from school, business and government food drive locations while the employees of Kary Movers Ltd volunteer their time to drive the trucks and handle the donations.

"We all understand the downturn in the economic environment and the increased need for those who can, to step up and help those who need a little care and compassion this holiday season. Instead of taking a trip at Christmas to spend time with family and friends in South Surrey this year, I will use those resources to make the trip early and ensure that the LMDSS has a hugely successful event for their clients and that the spirit of the holidays is shared from our hearts to theirs."
