New USB 3.0 A/B Switch with RS232 Serial Remote Control

The Model 4508 is a USB 3.0 A/B Switch that allows the quick connection between multiple hi-speed USB 3.0 devices with RS232 serial remote control.
 
CRANSTON, R.I. - Oct. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Electro Standards Laboratories has just announced its new PathWay® Model 4508 A/B Switch with RS232 Serial Remote Control (http://www.electrostandards.com/ProductDetail/?productid=2552).  The Model 4508 is compatible with Hi-Speed USB 3.0 devices and allows the switching between these two devices without having to disconnect cables.

The Model 4508 may be controlled manually via front panel pushbutton or remotely controlled using via a DB9 RS232 serial port located on rear panel.  Remote RS-232 ASCII commands allow the user to control switch position, lockout front panel operations, and obtain switch status.  Front panel LED's display present position and power status.  All 9 pins of the USB 3.0 interface are switched and the switch ports are transparent to all data.  The unit also maintains last set position on power loss.

The Model 4508 is packaged in a slim desktop style enclosure with all metal black box packaging that provides EMI/RFI shielding.  This convenient network device is ideal for connecting a computer to multiple USB 3.0 devices or sharing a USB 3.0 device between two computers. Switching over the network can be done locally by pressing a button or from a remote location via ASCII serial data commands.
