Accelerated Citizenship Application Process Inaugurated for St Kitts and Nevis

LONDON - Oct. 18, 2016 - PRLog -- Those who have placed their trust in the St Kitts and Nevis Citizenship by Investment Programme continue to enjoy the fruits of choosing the 'Platinum Standard' of second citizenship, as the Government recently announced that a new, fast-track option will ensure approvals for citizenship within 60 days of submitting a satisfactory application. The option will also include the issuance of passports, a step that follows receipt of a citizenship certificate.

The announcement was made by Mr Les Khan, CEO of St Kitts and Nevis' Citizenship by Investment Unit. The Unit is the Government body responsible for processing citizenship applications, and ultimately recommending applicants for citizenship to the Prime Minister for final approval. Mr Khan took the reins of the Unit in mid-September, following over 18 months of close discussions with the Unit and the Government on how to improve the Programme's performance and structure as an external consultant.

Known as the 'Accelerated Application Process,' this new procedure will enable applicants to obtain faster results in exchange for a premium on their fees. St Kitts and Nevis already offers one of the world's most effective citizenship processes, with an average wait of just 75 days – with results driven by the recalibration of the Unit, the training of its members in anti-money laundering and fraud-detecting mechanisms, and the establishment of a Technical Committee. Accelerated applications will thus continue to receive extensive screening, upholding St Kitts and Nevis' commitment to rigorous due diligence and integrity.
