HOUSTON - Oct. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- ANNOUNCING Doors open at legendary Numbers Night Club (Houston) Saturday, October 15th at 9 pm to the first Classic Club Party with The Hunger concert at 11 pm.

"Come out and enjoy some classic Hunger and club hits!" ~John Housman

The party is the first event for Houston's legendary DJ, Robert Castro (aka DJ NRG). He started as a nightclub lightman in the 80's in Houston. He is well known for killer video edits and love of all the classic club hits.

"The idea to throw a classic club party featuring the classic club songs from the late 80's and the early 90's came to me, while putting together a classic club song list." ~Castro

Needing advice Robert Castro turned his idea to The New Beat Productions. Never before throwing an event, Castro easily convinced long time colleges and promoters John Housman and Robert Ehlinger to jump on board.

Castro states, "I have been working in the clubs, since the last 80's. From lights to DJing, I have done it all in 27 years in the business, you could say."

"My first DJ gig was in January of 2001 for a memorial get together at Sliders in Houston, and it grew from there. John Housman and I have been concert promoters since November, 2010." ~ Robert Ehlinger

John states, "I've been DJing since 1988, but not professionally till 2001."

"The New Beat has been producing concerts with PPP for over 6 years now. We decided to team up with DJ NRG for this special reunion event to give our customers a taste of the good old days in Houston with The Hunger's old school songs." ~Robert E

John stated. "We started in 2010 with the t-4-2 show at Numbers."

"This is a special and rare event with The Hunger revisiting their past by playing their first 2 albums only. It's an hour long set with the albums feature songs: "Leave Me Alone" and "Grip." ~ Robert E

"Originally, The Hunger started out as a retro style three-piece band formed by my brother Jeff and I along with Brian Albritton. After just one visit to the classic dance club NRG, popular in the late 80's and early 90's, my brother Jeff and I fell in love with the sound of industrial music. The next morning we ran out and bought two keyboards. Not one band in Houston, Texas was playing industrial music at the time. The Hunger revolutionized the local music scene and became the very first local industrial rock band performing in Houston." ~Thomas Wilson (Vocals)

Being a classic club kid and regular at NRG, I actually had the opportunity to be introduced to Jeff and Thomas that evening. I recall being invited to attend their first concert at NRG and brought along some friends. We instantly became their fans and have followed them around ever since.

Currently, The Hunger is with Gut Records and has a national reputation of tireless promotion, great shows and an unrelenting commitment to follow where their hearts and heads lead them. Members include the harmonizing of brothers, vocalists and synthesis's Jeff and Thomas Wilson, Matt Solo (Bass), Raf Rivera (Guitar), Alex Slay (Drums), Richie Hey (Keyboard).  A sound described by many as familiar yet unique electro-metal.

Word is Khris Harding of Punkstar will host The Hunger's show. Producer, Roland Belmarez, worked on recreating and recording for this special event. The band is said to be recording new material. Possible we soon hear a seventh album?

"During the initial year of putting the band together and working on new material the band wrote and independently released the single, "Shock" in 1991, which rose to the top of the dance charts. We will be performing songs off our first two albums written in the early days of the years 90 to 93. Most of our original music was destroyed in hurricane Ike, so we have been working really hard to recreate it specifically for this show. At Numbers, we will play a couple of unrealized songs and have downloadable cards with our classics." ~Thomas Wilson

"I have been wanting to do an event for a few years, and I finally got the chance. To make sure it was a success, I partnered up with Robert of the New beat and John. I also wanted to bring in a great band. We are so excited to have Houston's own Hunger playing." ~Castro

The event will include mixes from the classic club days ranging from 1987 to 1997. DJ NRG and John will be bringing the best of the classic dance club music mixes heard at NRG, Powertools, Richs, Xcess, Therapy, Club Some and #'s along with a few from 6400 and Red Square. Castro explains, "This is the last big event of the year, so come on out and live it up!"

"The old timers know how to have a good time and party!!!" ~Jeff Wilson (vocals)
