SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Oct. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- Scottsdale Leadership has named Tom Sadvary as the recipient of the 2016 Drinkwater Community Leadership Award. The award celebrates and honors community leaders who exemplify and embody the spirit of Herbert R. Drinkwater, Scottsdale's most beloved mayor.

Selected by his peers for distinguished professional and community service, Mr. Sadvary is recognized for his three decades of leadership, consistency of community service and involvement and humanitarian values.

The award will be formally presented, along with the Frank W. Hodges Alumni Achievement and the Bill Jenkins Youth Leadership Awards at Scottsdale Leadership's 17th Annual Spirit of Community Leadership Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Nationwide Insurance, on Friday, December 2, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Phoenician.

Sadvary is CEO of HonorHealth, where he led creation of the $1.5B nonprofit organization through affiliation of Scottsdale Healthcare and John C. Lincoln Health Network in 2013. Tom was appointed president and CEO of Scottsdale Healthcare in 2005 following progressive executive roles after joining the organization in 1986 as administrator of Scottsdale Healthcare Shea Medical Center.

"Tom Sadvary is a true example of the type of person this award is designed to recognize. Nussbaum Gillis & Dinner is proud to sponsor the 2016 Drinkwater Community Leadership Award this year. We feel that Herb Drinkwater has left an indelible mark on the community and that this award and Scottsdale Leadership aligns with our law firm's spirit of corporate culture" added Randy Nussbaum, Founding Shareholder.

His community leadership roles have included the Arizona Hospital & Healthcare Association, Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, Scottsdale/Paradise Valley YMCA, Scottsdale McDowell Road Task Force, Scottsdale Rotary Club and Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. He continues to lead the community and professional development through involvement in the American Hospital Association, Greater Phoenix Leadership Council, Health System Alliance of Arizona, and Scottsdale Institute and Health Insights. "Tom is joining a legion of leadership heroes who have received the Drinkwater Award including Jim Bruner, Mary King, Paul Messinger, Dr. Art DeCabooter and former Mayor Sam Campana, among others (http://scottsdaleleadership.org/program/awardsluncheon/dr...).  Although Tom will be retiring from HonorHealth in Spring of 2017, we know he will expand his role as a steward of the community," said Scottsdale Leadership's Executive Director Margaret Leichtfuss.   And, his family legacy of leadership continues with his son Chris as a member of Scottsdale Leadership's Class 31."
