Haltech announces Jamie Barron as new Chair of the Board of Directors

OAKVILLE, Ontario - Oct. 12, 2016 - PRLog -- Haltech Regional Innovation Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Barron as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, who was selected at Haltech's Annual General Meeting held on July 14, 2016.  Jamie has served on Haltech's board since 2014 as a Director and as Chair of the Finance Committee. Jamie brings over 20 years of experience and passion for technology and innovation to Haltech's board, having worked with hundreds of startups and growth-stage companies to help them achieve their goals.  Jamie's experience spans many technology sectors including telecommunications, cleantech, advanced manufacturing, advanced electronics, satellite, wireless communications, medical technologies, digital media, life sciences and software.   Jamie brings deep connectivity and engagement in the innovation ecosystem across Ontario to his new role with Haltech. Jamie is a C.P.A., C.A. and a Partner in the Technology and Life Sciences practice with BDO Canada LLP.  He lives in Halton Region with his wife and two children.

Jamie succeeds Ralph Benmergui, who served as Haltech's Chair of the Board of Directors from 2014-2016.  Haltech's CEO & President, Dr. Rina Carlini, and the Haltech Board of Directors would like to express their gratitude to Ralph for his creative ideas, dedication and expert leadership over the past two years.  "Ralph's talent for raising important discussion and dialogue about Haltech's future vision and strategy for have been tremendous assets to the organization in his time as Chairman", said Carlini, "and we are pleased to have his continued involvement as a Director of Haltech."
