KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oct. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- DREAMING PURPLE NEON will be having it's WORLD PREMIERE at the Screenland Armor Theater.  The film features over 60 local cast and crew as well as the talents of cult legend Joel D Wynkoop.  The music was an international affair, with people from all over the world contributing songs.  A true party movie, DREAMING PURPLE NEON is a refreshing mix of old school Horror with Modern film asthetics.  With TV series like "Stranger Things" showing a massive love for modern stories done in a nostalgic, old school way, DREAMING PURPLE NEON, is sure to be another hit for Todd Sheets and Extreme Entertainment.  It's a throwback in many ways, including the practical Special makeup Effects.  No CGI here.  This is Horror like we all love, like we all grew up with in the Grindhouses, Drive In Theaters and Multiplexes of yesterday.  Gritty, Raw and over the edge, this film is a true love letter to the splatterific classic of yesterday while also creating something totally new and fresh!  A small amount of Press Passes are available for the event.  Please contact us at the phone numbers and e-mails below.  And thank you in advance for your time.

DREAMING PURPLE NEON is the follow up film, shot primarily in Kansas City to Todd's previous hit "House of Forbidden Secrets."  In 2012 Todd Sheets had a heart attack and spent over 30 days in the hospital where he had quadruple bypass open heart surgery, along with a second surgery due to complications.  When he finally was released from the Hospital, Todd decided he had to do what he loved most and returned to directing films.  A cult director that achieved success during the VHS boom of the late 80s and early 90s, Todd had retired from film after the tragic death of his dear friend Dennis Kingsolover at the Catacombs Haunted House in 2005.  With a renewed passion, Todd set out to make his biggest budget and most ambitious film ever, House of Forbidden Secrets.

House of Forbidden Secrets was a worldwide success, playing to over 83 Film festivals including just this October at the prestigious Bram Stoker International Film Festival in London.  It also has played numerous Conventions and theatrical screenings around the United States.  The film is currently being prepared for Home Video release on DVD, BluRay, VOD and Streaming services through MVD Releasing.  That film was shot in Kansas City and starred such Genre favorites as Dyanne Thorne (ILSA), Lew Temple (Walking Dead, Devil's Rejects), Lloyd Kaufman (Toxic Avenger, TROMA Films), Allan Kayser (Night of the Creeps), George Hardy (Troll 2) and Ari Lehman (Jason in Friday the 13th) - along with local cast and crew.  It featiures music by Itlaian Composer Fabio Frizzi who scored many of Lucio Fulci's biggest films such as ZOMBIE, Gates of Hell, The Beyond and more.  Additional music is provided by Japanese composer Toshiyuki Hiraoka, whose work includes Samurai Cop, Mad Cowgirl, Die Die Delta Pie, Violent New Breed, The SHivers and many more.  It is truly a labor of love.

And now Todd will be screening his follow up film, DREAMING PURPLE NEON, for it's WORLD PREMIERE at the Screenland Armor.  Todd Sheets began making movies in Kansas City in 1988, just a kid really.  Though very crude, those early films have a huge cult audience, with many fans paying up to $800 for a VHS copy on eBay.  Todd's films did tremendous business during the Home Video boom and sold very well overseas, with his cult hit "Zombie Bloodbath" shipping over 50,000 units worldwide.  Todd truly was ahead of his time, putting Kansas City on the map for indie Horror films for many fans.  He is considered the "Prince of Gore" among fans of underground Horror Cinema and the early Shot on Video movement.  Facebook even has a fanclub dedicated to Todd that was created by two major fans of his work, Thomas Berdinski and Brandon Bennet.  A documentary was recelty completed about Todd and his career.  Press copies are available at the e-mails and phone numbers below.  In addition, Todd worked with many Horror icons during his career, with cult directors David DeCoteau and Herschell Gordon Lewis acting as Mentors for the young director, introducing Todd to distributors worldwide and helping establish him in the entertainment business.  Todd now works with other talent between Kansas City and Los Angeles as well as Austin, Texas and Tampa Florida, a growing film community.  He can be seen with David DeCoteau and other Horror icons such as Mick Garris, Adrienne Barbeau, Linnea Quigley, Danny Draven, Lew Temple, Sid Haig, Tony Todd, Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder, Fred Olen Ray, Charles Band and many others at various events in Los Angeles, including events held at the famous Dark Delicacies store.  Even though he travels often, Todd still calls Kansas City home and brings many talented artists to the area for filming every year.

Thank you again for this opportunity.
