Myles Munroe's Legacy Moves Forward

NEW PROVIDENCE, Bahamas - Oct. 11, 2016 - PRLog -- NASSAU, BAHAMAS - The Second Annual Munroe Legacy Gala will take place on November 3^rd, 2016 at The Melia Nassau Beach Resort Hotel in Nassau, Bahamas. The event will begin at 8PM, with a cocktail hour at 7PM. This black-tie event, which is sponsored by The Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation, will raise funds to continue the charitable efforts of the organization.

The event commemorates the second anniversary of the passing of world-renown leaders, Dr. Myles & Ruth Munroe, whose work did not die with them, but continue through the efforts of their children, Myles Jr. and Charisa. According to Myles Jr., "The Myles and Ruth Munroe Foundation will work to bring our father's core message to individuals and groups that might not ever be exposed because of lack of funding or forces that would seek to oppress their potential. Our father and mother had a very passionate heart for people, and people are who this foundation is created to serve."

Over the past year, the duo has been intentional about helping Bahamians in need, even as they travel the world continuing to uphold the foundation's mission of "transforming followers into leaders and leaders into agents of change." In addition to sponsoring scholarships to area youths, the Foundation partnered with the Bahamas Children's Emergency Hostel to assist with some of their pressing needs in support of the youths that they serve. In August of this year, the Foundation hosted its first Munroe Emerging Leaders (MEL) Conference, a platform for up and coming leaders to share their stories of inspiration and perseverance. The Myles & Ruth Munroe Foundation will also support the establishment of The Munroe Institute; a first-class Institute producing an impactful curriculum to ensure that for generations to come, the ideas and ideals espoused by our parents will be taught and celebrated. To ensure that future, it will take many individuals including us all, as well as multiple organizations to carry that baton. There is never a finish line, only the passing of the baton from one generation to the next.

**Part of the proceeds raised from this year's gala will go towards the Foundation's Disaster Relief Initiative to assist and help those individuals in need around the Bahamas, Haiti and Jamaica who were severely impacted by Hurricane Matthew.
