LOS ANGELES - Oct. 10, 2016 - PRLog -- Film Festival season is year round, but for this short action film, it's just getting started. On the heels of it's debut at NewFilmmakers NY, and a Platinum Remi Award at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival  for Best Dramatic Original Short Subject; Iris, a film written and produced by Cheryl McQueen and directed by Stephen David Brooks has been accepted into the Chelsea Film Festival in New York City on Sunday October 16th. The Chelsea Film Festival is a non profit organization known for enlightening the work of up and coming filmmakers, producers and actors and Iris is honored to be welcomed to it.

McQueen Productions and Cylence Media worked together to bring Iris to the film festival circuit, Iris follows a highly trained federal agent who is tasked with taking down a segment of the Russian Mob at a New York City bar. Played by Cheryl McQueen herself, Iris is a strong female protagonist who does not quit until a job is done.

"I was drawn to the intensity of Iris," director Stephen David Brooks said. "The character is truly an enigma. Albeit an extremely capable, dangerous and possibly deadly enigma."

Since 2013, the Chelsea Film Festival has been dedicated to advancing the arts in a vibrant community like Chelsea. The festival typically consists of four days of screenings and Q&A sessions featuring independent shorts, feature-lengths and documentaries from emerging directors. Iris, McQueen Productions and Cylence Media are thrilled to be participants. Show support for the film at the festival on Sunday October 16th in New York City.
