Follow on Google News | A Caring Hand Joins Festival People en Español at Javits Center Sunday October 16, 2016NYC's Only Bilingual Grief Programs for Children and Families
By: A Caring Hand "Festival People en Español draws tens of thousands of people each year, and A Caring Hand is delighted at the opportunity to reach the Spanish-speaking community," said Dr. Robin Goodman, A Caring Hand executive director. "Each year, more than 4,000 New York City school children experience the death of a parent or sibling, and sadly, only a fraction of them receive counseling. We want to help as many families as possible and welcome Spanish speakers, removing the barrier of language." At A Caring Hand, children learn skills to manage their grief, meet others who know how they feel, and have fun. Their parents and caregivers get support to guide their children. Fall sessions are already underway, and places are available for families who would like to participate in upcoming winter groups. Interested families should contact A Caring Hand at 212-229-CARE (2273), email robingoodman@ About A Caring Hand A Caring Hand, Founded in Memory of Billy Esposito, Inc. is the only nonprofit in New York City solely dedicated to helping grieving children, teens and caregivers as well as professionals who care about them, access information and find a community of support.
