Fetchlight Anniversary Party will raise funds for Aussie Rescue San Diego

SAN DIEGO - Oct. 9, 2016 - PRLog -- Fetchlight will be celebrating its fourth anniversary with a party that includes a raffle and auction fundraiser for a local dog rescue, Aussie Rescue San Diego & Friends. The party will be in Little Italy on the dog-friendly back deck at Landini's Pizzeria, 1827 India Street, on Sunday, November 13, from 3-6pm.

"Aussie Rescue is where I adopted my dog, Tawny [see promo photos or search #tawnyfoxdog on Instagram]. I thank the rescue for saving Tawny by planning a raffle and auction at my yearly business party, plus donating my time photographing adoptable dogs, and any other way I can think of to help this great organization," says Jen Bergren, owner of Fetchlight, a pet lifestyle company specializing in pet photography, pet art, and pet business marketing services.

Aussie Rescue San Diego & Friends has been a 501c3 non-profit for more than seven years and re-homes over 200 Australian Shepherds, Aussie mixes, and other dogs every year. "We rely on donations and fundraisers such as this, in order to save more dogs and find them the best homes possible," says Geri Dimeglio, director of Aussie Rescue.

In 2015, the Fetchlight anniversary party raised over $1000. "I was very happy with last year's total party donation, and am seeking more high-value auction item donations this year to raise even more money for the rescue," says Ms. Bergren. Many prizes are from local pet businesses, and there are also prizes from non-pet-related businesses such as restaurants in the Little Italy neighborhood and beyond. Raffle tickets will be priced at two tickets for $5 and five tickets for $10, auction prizes are expected to have a retail value of $75+ each. "For seven years and counting, Landini's Pizzeria has been proud to support many local charitable organizations by hosting events, providing thousands of pizzas, and donating to auctions and raffles, including our monthly 'Doggies on the Deck' yappy hours," says Christine Landini. Attendance at past years' Fetchlight anniversary parties has been 60-70 people, and many guests bring their dogs to the fenced-in back patio at the pizzeria.

Owner Jen Bergren started her pet industry career working as an advertising graphic designer at Petco headquarters during the day while completing a photography certificate from UCSD at night, which led to these two interests combining by photographing pets for Petco. She left Petco in 2011 to devote time to starting Fetchlight and adopting a dog.
